Disable WordPress auto save

Post and page autosave is enabled by default in WordPress, But it can be disabled manually for posts, pages, or both. It can’t be done from wordPress dashboard but you can easily do it through your cpanel by editing “functions.php” file. Just follow the steps given below:

1. Login to your cpanel
2. On Files menu Click ‘File manager’.
3. Go to WordPress installation directory that is “publci_html” or “www”
4. Open the “wp-includes” folder here you will get the “functions.php” file.
5. Right click the file and click edit and again click edit.
6. Now add following code at the end of the file

add_action( 'admin_init', 'disable_autosave' );
function disable_autosave() {
wp_deregister_script( 'autosave' );  



7. Now Save and your are done.
